Evolve Partial Hospitalization Programs (PHP) support adolescents 12-17 years old who live at home but struggle to maintain balance due to mental health, addiction, and behavioral issues.
What is a Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP)
The PHP level of care is a full day outpatient mental health program that addresses severe mental health issues such as anxiety, depression, trauma disorders, and addiction. Also referred to as a “day program,” partial hospitalization programs in California include daily participation in individual and family therapy, psychiatry, group therapy sessions, experiential therapies such as music and art therapy, and academic support. As an alternative to a 24-hour residential setting, clients can return home at night while receiving more intensive care than regular outpatient or intensive outpatient therapy.
Are Partial Hospitalization Programs Effective?
A partial hospitalization program in California is a great way to transition home from high-level treatments such as inpatient or residential and reconnect with the community. The program also benefits those who require more support than regular outpatient or intensive outpatient therapy. a more intensive treatment plan and guidance on their recovery journey but do not require 24-hour medical supervision. These facilities know how to support someone after discharging from a psychiatric hospital and can offer compassionate treatments for those in need.
PHP programs are also highly effective for those with other obligations that must be met, whether at home, with work, or with family. This leaves room for clients to schedule additional commitments and build support networks outside their facility. Not to mention a PHP program offers long-term care at less expense; insurance companies are much more willing to cover a partial hospitalization program in California over an inpatient treatment plan simply due to the cost.

Experienced, Professional Staff
Our staff is handpicked to provide the highest level of care available. On-site staff includes nurses, residential counselors, and licensed therapists. Our counseling staff is made up of experienced clinicians, masters-level interns, and certified recovery coaches who bring a diverse and eclectic background to the treatment experience. While it’s not always possible, we do our best to have one staff member on-site who has kids of their own. We understand the experience of being a parent goes a long way when helping teens through the challenges of substance issues, behavioral problems, and emotional challenges.
Individualized Programs
Our teens receive solution-focused, data-driven, evidence-based, results-oriented therapy. Everything we do is geared toward changing behavior and finding the right combination of treatment and support. Since no two teenagers are alike, no two treatment plans are alike. During the admissions process, we conduct a thorough assessment, establish a baseline, and create an Individual Recovery Plan based on specific needs and goals. Recovery Plans include a combination of the following therapeutic modes:
Individual Therapy
- Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)

What Happens Next?
We know the rest of the world doesn’t pause for our teens or their families during treatment. In our Partial Hospitalization Program, teens continue their school work with the support of our education staff.
