Evolve Walnut Creek Residential Treatment Center

Walnut Creek, East Bay, California

Walnut Creek is a city in Contra Costa County, California, known for its vast, beautiful open spaces and its proximity to major East Bay cities. At Evolve Walnut Creek residential treatment center, teens live on-site for an average of 30-60 days in our comfortable private home located on a large, beautiful property. We offer round-the-clock support and treatment for teens struggling with depression, anxiety, suicidal ideation, self-injurious behavior, oppositional-defiant disorder (ODD), psychosis, or other high-acuity mental health, substance abuse, or behavioral issues.

With its many parks, trails, and mountains, Walnut Creek has more open space per capita than any other city or town in California. The city manages three thousand acres of open space, set aside to preserve natural resources, protect wildlife, and provide ample recreation opportunities for residents and visitors alike. These unspoiled nature reserves offer a unique glimpse of the quintessential beauty of Northern California. Parks like Diablo State Park, Borges Ranch, Sugarloaf, Shell Ridge, and Castle Rock feature miles of hiking, running, biking, and equestrian trails complete with unique rock formations, ponds, and perfect picnicking spots. Smaller but equally stunning local destinations include Heather Farms and Ruth Bancroft Gardens. The Iron Horse Regional Trail, a famous forty-mile scenic path popular with outdoor enthusiasts, also passes through Walnut Creek.

Between its sunny Mediterranean climate and natural beauty, not to mention its active community resources – like the vibrant Broadway Plaza shopping center and the excellent John Muir Health hospital, ranked by U.S. News and World Report as among the Top 15 hospitals in California – Walnut Creek is the perfect location for teens to engage in a full recovery.

Residential Treatment at Evolve Walnut Creek

The residential treatment experience at Evolve Walnut Creek is unique. Our mental health treatment centers for teens are warm, comfortable, and homey, designed to put our residents at ease so they can focus on what matters: treatment. At the same time, our safety protocols are among the strongest in the country. We pride ourselves on making safety the number-one priority for all of our teens. Treatment can be hard work, but we know that in the right environment, with the right people, teens can develop practical coping skills, learn more about themselves, build enriching new relationships, and yes, have fun. Our licensed staff – who are as nurturing and accepting as they are professional and experienced – encourage personal growth and lay the foundation for sustainable, lifelong recovery. Our staff-client ratio is at least 3:1, one of the highest available for a teen residential treatment center. Teens feel like they’re in a personal, individualized recovery center designed to meet their specific therapeutic needs – because that’s exactly where they are.

Personalized Treatment for Total Healing

Our teens receive evidence-based, solution-focused, results-oriented therapy.

At Evolve Walnut Creek residential treatment center, we learn everything we can about each of our teens before creating a customized recovery plan that serves their specific clinical needs. In addition to psychiatry, we incorporate Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) while offering experiential therapies such as equine-assisted therapy, art therapy, music therapy, yoga, fitness, hiking, and more. Experiential therapies provide fun, healthy outlets for teens, expose them to new ways of expressing themselves, and help them discover what a “life worth living” looks like for them. Teens also have dedicated hours for educational and academic support so they can stay on track with schooling.

We offer a wide range of therapeutic modalities since we believe that each adolescent connects to treatment differently and that recovery can happen anywhere. Since we believe it’s vital to support the entire family when treating a teen, we offer regular family therapy in addition to the multiple individual therapy sessions a teen receives every week.

Recovery plans at Evolve Walnut Creek include the following therapeutic modalities:

Individual Therapy

Group Therapy

Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR)
