Support Group for Evolve Parents

Weekly Virtual Support Group for Parents Navigating Teen Mental Health Issues

It hurts to see your child struggle, but trying to walk this road alone is even more painful. This experience doesn’t need to be isolating. We offer a FREE weekly virtual support group for parents of teens. It’s a safe space for parents and caregivers to connect, share resources, and talk through the struggles of balancing childcare, work responsibilities, and self-care. During this parent support group, participants gain practical guidance and emotional support from others who understand teenage behavioral health issues.

Headshot of Ellen Bloch, LCSW

“If you’re considering joining our group, I want you to know—you are not alone. Parenting a teen who is struggling with mental health or addiction can be incredibly painful and isolating. It’s heartbreaking to watch your child miss milestones you once dreamed of, and it’s natural to feel guilt or wonder if you’re doing something wrong. But there’s no such thing as a perfect parent. What you’re going through may be the hardest thing you’ll ever face, and it makes sense that you need support.

This group is a vibrant, welcoming space where parents support each other, share helpful resources, and talk openly—without judgment. My hope is that by joining us, you’ll feel a little less alone and a little more understood.”

Who Is This Group For?

We’re here for those who are looking for a safe space, a place to connect with other parents who get it and willingly offer support and insight because they’ve been there. You’re not alone—many parents are going through similar challenges, and coming together can make all the difference. If you’re struggling to figure out how to help a teenager with mental health issues, this support group made up of other parents of teens who are facing behavioral health challenges and co-occurring disorders is ready to welcome you.

Many parents who join us have teens who:

  • Struggle with depression, anxiety, ADHD
  • Are suffering from PTSD, or have been traumatized by past or present experiences
  • Are dealing with substance use or engaging in high-risk, dangerous behaviors
  • Experience self-harm or have suicidal thoughts
  • Have difficulty regulating emotions
  • Become angry or violent toward family members during moments of emotional dysregulation
  • Are unable to attend school due to intense mental health struggles
  • Are facing bullying
  • Are dealing with technology addiction
  • Are facing other teen issues like developmental trauma, OCD, depression, and more

You’re not alone in these challenges—this group from Evolve Adolescent Behavioral Health offers a space where parents support one another through shared experiences and understanding.

Common Challenges Parents Will Recognize

It’s natural to feel guilt, fear, or self-doubt. Many parents wonder, “Did I do something wrong? Is it my fault my child is depressed?” Our group helps parents process these feelings in a supportive space.

When one child is in crisis, it can be hard to meet the needs of your other children. Many parents share the challenge of trying to be present for everyone at once.

Managing work responsibilities while caring for a struggling child can feel overwhelming. Finding balance is tough, but support from other parents who understand can help.

It’s common to feel alone when your teen is in crisis. Our group is here to remind you that you’re not—parents lift each other up and offer mutual support.

Many parents face the challenge of navigating school systems, whether it’s securing IEPs, 504 plans, or other essential resources for their child’s well-being.

Co-parenting while supporting a struggling teen can create added tension. Some parents share feelings of being stuck in the middle, especially when family dynamics are already strained.

Supporting a teen in crisis is incredibly hard. You deserve compassion, too. Many parents in our group have learned it’s okay to take a break—it doesn’t mean you’re giving up, just recharging.
