Evolve Camarillo Outpatient Treatment for Teens

Camarillo, California

Treatment for the Whole Person

Evolve Camarillo offers individualized mental health and substance abuse treatment in the beautiful coastal hills an hour north of Los Angeles. Our center sits at the foot of the Conejo Valley Grade, a short distance from peaceful hiking trails and a ten-minute drive from the beach. We connect with nature and the outdoors every day. We leave city life behind and take therapeutic walks into the hills, where it’s common to see deer, owls, hawks, tree frogs, and the occasional grey fox.

Our teenagers receive therapy in a safe, supportive, secluded setting ideal for healing and recovery. Treatment can be hard work, but we know that in the right environment our teens can develop practical coping skills, learn about themselves, have fun, and build enriching new relationships. We encourage personal growth and lay the foundation for sustainable, lifelong recovery.

Three Levels of Personalized Care

At Evolve Camarillo, we learn everything we can about each of our teens before creating their individualized recovery plan. We find out what they like and what gets them excited, then translate that knowledge into a customized program that serves their specific needs. We apply traditional approaches such as Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Group DBT, Process Groups, Family Therapy, and Parent Support Groups. We engage our teens further with Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) modes like yoga and meditation, and offer experiential activities including music, art, dance, hiking, and general fitness. We also go on regular social and cultural outings.

Adolescents receive our full spectrum of solution-focused, data-driven, evidence-based, results-oriented therapy at each level of care:

Partial Hospitalization (PHP)

Our partial hospitalization program serves teens who live at home and attend the Evolve full-day treatment program. PHP teens receive six hours of treatment, five days a week.

Intensive Outpatient (IOP)

Our intensive outpatient program serves teens transitioning from PHP (Partial Hospitalization) or those who need more structure than weekly therapy sessions. IOP teens receive three hours of treatment, three to five days a week.

Location Details

We’re located five minutes off the Ventura Highway at the Camarillo Springs exit in a state-of-the-art facility built in 2002. Our 2800-square foot space looks like a typical office space from the outside, but on the inside, we create an intimate, welcoming atmosphere. We decorate in light, airy, colorful pastels. Animal and nature themed art covers our walls. We have four small administrative offices, three individual therapy suites, and two large group areas: the living room and the IT space. The living room is for down time and relaxation. It’s comfortable and homey, with a big flat screen TV (with a Wii), coffee-table, and couches. The IT room is equipped with writable walls, computer stations for therapy assignments and schoolwork, and movable partitions to allow for experiential programming like yoga, music, or dance therapy.

Our intimate space serves a maximum of ten teenagers at a time, with a teen-staff ratio of 3:1.
