Evolve Santa Barbara Outpatient Treatment for Teens
Santa Barbara, California
Evolve Santa Barbara offers mental health and substance abuse treatment for teens through virtual telehealth. Our board-certified adolescent psychiatrists and therapists employ HIPAA-compliant video-conferencing tools to provide evidence-based, results-oriented therapy in both the Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) and Partial Hospitalization Programs (PHP). All aspects of treatment, including individual, group, and family therapy and psychiatry, have moved to online platforms.
Evolve Day Programs
Treatment for the Whole Person
Treatment can be hard work, but we know our teens can learn practical coping skills while learning about themselves, having fun, and building enriching new relationships. We encourage personal growth and lay the foundation for sustainable, lifelong recovery.
Two Levels of Personalized Care
At Evolve Santa Barbara, we learn everything we can about each of our teens before creating their individualized treatment plan. We find out what they like and what gets them excited, then translate that knowledge into a customized program that serves their specific needs. We apply traditional approaches such as Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Group DBT, Family Therapy, Multifamily Groups, and Parent Support Groups. Daily educational and academic support is provided to help students stay on track with schooling. We equally emphasize experiential activities such as surfing, hiking, mindful walking, art, yoga, and music, as we believe that teens connect differently to various modalities and that recovery can happen anywhere.
Adolescents receive our full spectrum of solution-focused, evidence-based therapy at each level of care:
Partial Hospitalization (PHP)
Our partial hospitalization program serves teens who live at home and attend the Evolve full-day treatment program. At the PHP level, teens receive two individual therapy sessions per week, one psychiatric evaluation per week, and daily academic support. Our intensive Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) can serve as a starting point for teens who need more structure than our Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) or it can be a step-down option from Residential or Inpatient Hospitalization. PHP is a full day of treatment, offered five days a week.
Intensive Outpatient (IOP)
Our Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) serves teens transitioning down from a higher level of care (PHP, Residential or Inpatient Hospitalization) or can be a solid entry point for teens who need more structure than their weekly psychotherapy sessions. Intensive Outpatient is appropriate for teens who live at home and attend school. At the IOP level, teens receive one individual therapy session per week, one psychiatric evaluation per week, and daily academic support. While the frequency of treatment varies according to each individual’s needs, teens in Intensive Outpatient typically receive three hours of treatment four days a week.
