Evolve has numerous fieldwork and practicum training programs available at our residential treatment centers. We are seeking Master’s-level students currently enrolled in Social Work, MFT, or LPCC programs. You must be receiving school credit for your placement.
Trainees/fieldwork applicants will gain an enhanced understanding of the residential treatment population and of specific mental health, substance abuse, and behavioral issues affecting teens today. Many of our teens struggle with severe depression, anxiety, self-harming behaviors, suicidal ideation, and more. Applicants should be prepared to interact with a high-acuity, intense population.
While working under supervision of an assigned field instructor, you will have the opportunity to design and run a weekly therapeutic group, provide crisis management support within the teen milieu, observe clinical assessments, and assist with case management responsibilities (though students will not have their own caseload of clients). You will receive basic Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) training, learn important crisis-management interventions, and develop effective diagnostic skills. Overall, you will get a unique behind-the-scenes perspective into the entire admission-to-discharge process. Have a specific interest? We’ll work with you to provide opportunities that meet your specific career and learning objectives.
We are seeking applicants who can demonstrate maturity and sensitivity to the adolescent residential treatment population. Applicants must be over 21 years old and pass a LiveScan background check. They must also be available for a minimum of 16 hours a week for at least 2 semesters/quarters of the academic school year. While this position is unpaid, it has the potential to grow into paid full-time employment at the completion of the applicant’s graduate program. Many of the individuals who have completed placements with Evolve are now licensed clinicians in our organization.
If you are interested in a position, please complete the form below and email it, along with a copy of your resume, to [email protected]. We will get back to you as soon as we have an opening.
Please note that the fieldwork and practicum opportunities at our residential treatment centers are in person.
