Dr KerwinDr. Kerwin is a licensed clinical psychologist in the state of California with over twenty years of clinical experience working with adolescents, adults, and families. She specializes in the treatment of suicidality, non-suicidal self-injury, substance use, eating disorders, and behavioral problems. Her clinical training began at the Center for the Treatment of Borderline Personality Disorder at McLean Hospital (Boston, MA) where she worked with young adults with severe emotional instability and self-harming behaviors. As an intern at Harvard Medical School/Massachusetts General Hospital, she worked with adolescents with serious emotional and behavioral difficulties. Dr. Kerwin followed her interest in youth and adolescent therapy to UCLA’s Child and Adolescent Mood Disorders Program, where she received specialized training for adolescents with suicidality and aggressive/destructive behaviors. During this time Dr. Kerwin also trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and psychological/neuropsychological assessment. Her extensive training in DBT includes specialty certifications in Adapting DBT for Adolescents, DBT in Residential Settings, Wise Minded Parenting, DBT in the Treatment of Binge Eating and DBT with Clients with Substance Abuse. At Evolve, Dr. Kerwin provides assessment and treatment, supervises professional training and development, and oversees all clinical services. Outside of Evolve, Dr. Kerwin enjoys sports, meditation, art and spending time with family, particularly her three children.
